Author Biography

   Arthur Geisert was born in Dallas, Texas on September 20, 1941.  He attended Concordia College and the University of California at Davis, as well as doing graduate study at the Art Institute of Chicago.  Geisert worked as a teacher and a printmaker.  He and his wife, Bonnie, with whom he collaborates on children's books, have a son Noah.  Geisert enjoys author visits.
   The author is best known for his humorous picture books and he especially loves to draw pigs.  "The Ark" was an ALA Notable Children's Book in 1989 and a Notable Children's Trade Social Studies Book.
