  | Full Text Reviews: School Library Journal - 12/01/2010 K-Gr 2—After a short basic overview of the sport, the authors highlight a couple of rules, two pieces of equipment, and a few records. While it could be argued that some of these choices (such as in the rules section) are trivial in nature, the facts are sure to generate conversation, thereby expanding vocabulary for additional future reading. Internet sites can be found by going to the publisher's website. The large, colorful photographs are eye-catching and appealing. Even by sticking to controlled vocabulary and using repetition throughout, the authors impart fascinating information. Some of these statements were chosen especially to relate to the youngest readers, such as the fact that a football player was fined for celebrating too much after a touchdown because he made a snow angel.
