Author Biography

   Dori Chaconas was a stay-at-home mom when she began writing stories for children in the 60's. She sold her first story to Highlights for Children and had more than fifty stories published in magazines. 
   Chaconas left writing in the 70's to draw and work on her own crewel designs. She sold her designs to yarn companies and had designs featured in Good Housekeeping and McCall's Needlework magazines. When the needlework business slowed in the 80's, she worked parttime at a preschool, nursing home, medical clinic and hospital. She began writing again in 1997.
   Chaconas lives in Germantown, Wisconsin.
