Author Biography

   Andrea Cheng was born September 19 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hungarian immigrants. Ms. Cheng died on December 26, 2015. Her family spoke Hungarian and English at home. After graduating from Cornell University with a BA in English, she went to Switzerland where she learned French, taught English, apprenticed to a bookbinder and attended Centro del Bel Libro, a school of bookbinding. When she returned to the United States, she studied Chinese and received an MS in linguistics from Cornell University.
   In addition to writing books for children and young adults, Ms. Cheng taught English as a Second Language at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.
