Rafael Lopez Website:rafaellopez.com Birthplace: Mexico City, Mexico Author Biography Rafael Lopez was born in Mexico City, Mexico August 8, 1961. He studied at the Art Center College Of Design in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to illustrating chidren's books, Mr. Lopez created a set of five Latin Music Legends stamps that were released by the United States Postal Service, worked on the Urban Art Trail Project which transformed San Diego's East Village with colorful murals, and works with the Link program that teaching at-risk high school students illustration. He created the artwork for the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. in 2012. Lopez received a Pura Belpre Illustrator Honor in 2014 for Tito Puente Mambo King, in 2012 for Cazuela That The Farm Maiden Stirred, and in 2006 for My Name Is Cecelia. He received the 2010 Pura Belpre Illustrator Award for Book Fiesta! Mr. Lopez divides his time between his studios in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and San Diego. Updating Results ...
