Author Biography

     Carol S. Adler was born on Long Island, New York on February 23, 1932.  She attended Hunter College and received a Master's Degree in Education at Russell Sage College.  Adler has worked as a teacher and as an advertising assistant.  The author is married to Arnold Adler and has two grown sons.  Her hobbies include tennis and enjoying nature.  
    Adler is best known for her middle grade novels and she frequently makes author visits.  "Shell Lady's Daughter" was an ALA Best Book for Young Adults in 1983, "In Our House Scott is My Brother" was a Children's Choice Book in 1981 and  "Magic of the Glits" received a Golden Kite Award in 1980.
