Author Biography

   Harry Mazer was born in New York City on May 31, 1925.  He died on April 7, 2016. Mazer graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and worked as a longshoreman, a railroad worker, an English teacher, and an iron worker.  He married Norma Fox Mazer, also a children's author, and they had three daughters and a son.  His hobbies included racquetball, gardening and sailing.
   Mazer will be remembered for his young adult novels.  "Solid Gold Kid" was a Children's Choice Book in 1974.  "The War on Villa Street" was a Best Book for Young Adults in 1978.  "Snow Bound" was made into an After School Special for TV in 1978.  "Last Mission" was a Best Book for Young Adults in 1979, as was "I Love You, Stupid!" in 1981.
