Tana Hoban Birthplace: PA USA Author Biography Tana Hoban was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The author died at the age of 88 on January 27, 2006 in Paris, France. She attended Moore College of Arts. Hoban worked as a freelance artist, a magazine illustrator and as a photography teacher. She won more than a dozen gold medals for her photography and filmmaking. The author and her husband, Edward Gallob, are the parents of one daughter, Meila. Her brother, Russell Hoban, is also a well-known children's book author and illustrator.
