Helpful diagrams and images show how infrared is used, the frequencies of microwave transmissions, and other details. Plentiful sidebars discuss related topics such as pinhole cameras, Blu-ray players, or polarized sunglasses. Early researchers in each area, including Newton, Roentgen, and Faraday, are described with their experiments and findings.
