Good demonstrations of single-point, two-point, and three-point perspective and light source—not only for the hard-edged objects, such as tanks and warplanes, but in the animal books, too. Dogs, Cats, and Horses demonstrate how to draw each creature from life, a photo, and basic shapes, which is par for the course in drawing books for this age group. Going one step further, each of these titles shows how to build drawings of animals up from the underlying musculature, which is unusual for works aimed at readers of this age. Tanks and Warplanes offer tips on where to find drawing subjects—museums, airfields, and drawing from models.
