Booklist - 02/15/2019 Your child has a cold? Well, along with the chicken soup, they might welcome this book. What does a cold need? The comforting yet sprightly text goes through a litany of helpers—everything from the aforementioned soup to a comfy bed, from a mom's soft hands to a dad's jokes. The text uses the cold as its protagonist (It likes music and a long, deep afternoon nap), but the art, watercolor, colored pencil, and graphite illustrations focus on the shaggy-haired, red-nosed child who is the recipient of all the attention, cure-alls, and love. The endearing art captures the aggravation that comes along with being sick, including an overflowing basket of tissues, but also some of the perks, including an affectionate little spotted dog, who is a reminder of all the fun to be had that's waiting just outside.
