School Library Journal - 06/01/2014 Pres-Gr 2—Using simple language full of rich and playful adjectives, Brocket briefly explores each of the seasons. She includes seasonal characteristics (spring: "days are longer and lighter; "pale blue skies and fluffy white clouds, showers and sunshine") as well as what children might do in each of the season's varying weather (summer: "bare feet and sunglasses; winter: "stay indoors and keep warm and cozy under blankets with a mug of hot cocoa"). The close-up, intensely colored photographs are as inviting as the text and echo the colors suggested for each season. Despite the brevity of this volume, Brocket condenses a lot of information into a small space. The sprightly text combined with the outstanding photographs make this an excellent choice for the youngest nonfiction fans.—Marge Loch-Wouters, La Crosse Public Library, WI - Copyright 2014 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
