Booklist - 12/15/2014 In this graphic-novel adaptation of the fourth Artemis Fowl novel, the evil pixie Opal Kobol has escaped from the J. Argon Clinic, and she intends to wreak her revenge against Artemis Fowl, fairy captain Holly Short, and centaur Foaly and to start an all-out war between humans and fairies. Artemis has no memories at all of Holly, Foaly, or any fairies, but he and his bodyguard and mentor Butler encounter Holly just after Opal barely misses killing them. Now, the 14-year-old genius must find a way to recover his memories and help Holly stop Opal and her vengeful plan. Colfer has worked with comics writer Donkin and the same team of Italian artists for all four volumes of the graphic-novel adaptations of his novels, giving these books a colorful, European-comics look. His involvement makes this adaptation work very well, so readers can enjoy the story, whether they have never read any of the Artemis Fowl novels or are big fans of the series. - Copyright 2014 Booklist.
