  | Full Text Reviews: Booklist - 04/01/2020 Originally published in Italy, this wordless adventure is an exaltation of artistic expression. A boy wakes up and eats breakfast and then rides a bus. His ultimate goal is to deliver his own creation to a large art tree. This simple story summary does not begin to convey the visual complexity of this book. Every image celebrates European art, with most pieces represented dating from the late 1800s through the 1900s, from artists such as Van Gogh, Magritte, Munch, and Dalí, but also including works by Alexandros of Antioch (creator of the Venus de Milo), Botticelli, the Beatles, and Banksy. Bold colors unite the scenes and lead from one spread to the next. The masterworks are integrated into the larger narrative in a fresh, humorous manner. Many of the pieces are familiar, but putting them into a different context invites new interpretation.
