Booklist - 06/01/2018 Each book in the Day at the Beach: Animal Life on the Shore series introduces one or more creature living by the sea. Color photos offer clear views of the subjects, while arrows connect labels with features in the pictures, and captions provide additional comments. Though all the books use the same format, the information presented varies according to each volume’s subject. Typically, they mention the animals’ physical features, distinctive traits and behaviors, diet, and how they raise their young. A few short lines of large-print text appear on each double-page spread, along with a full-page photo and one or more smaller ones. What’s happening beneath the sand? Bloodworms and Wiggly Beach Dwellers looks at the “secret lives” of lugworms, sand mason worms, and bloodworms. Libraries may want to consider this satisfactory series or individual volumes as needed. - Copyright 2018 Booklist.
