Full Text Reviews:

Booklist - 11/15/2016 In the latest installment of this UK-imported series, Agatha comes up with a clever plan to help her soccer-loving friend Martha get back on the field after Martha’s mom demands she takes up a second, less messy activity, such as joining the spelling team. Luckily, Agatha gets access to the top-secret spelling words through e-mails from her cousin Bella. Unfortunately, Agatha has to sign her brother’s name to all the e-mails, which causes trouble down the line. Everything comes right in the end, though, once Agatha and her friends realize that cheating is wrong. Speaking directly to the reader, Agatha endearingly breaks the fourth wall, keeping the story going at a breakneck speed. Exaggerated, cartoonish illustrations have a madcap flavor that matches Agatha’s constant energetic zeal, which often manifests itself in an abundance of sound effects and exclamations. Fans of other early chapter-book heroines, such as Clementine, Judy Moody, and Jules Bloom, will find another kindred spirit in high-energy Agatha Parrot. - Copyright 2016 Booklist.
