School Library Journal - 04/01/2018 K-Gr 2—Focusing on the concept of individual development, this series aims to show youngsters that having different abilities doesn't mean being limited. Examples show a blind child participating in a karate class independently and a boy using a wheelchair playing a sport. Vocabulary, such as cochlear implant and Braille are used, with simple definitions in a glossary at the back of each book. The series also includes critical thinking questions to launch discussions. Additional content can be unlocked via the Capstone 4D app to make the titles more interactive. VERDICT A wise choice for libraries needing to update their most basic informational books for emergent readers. - Copyright 2018 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
