Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 06/01/2020 Gr 3–5—Awesome nature and impressive technology combine to create helpful bionics in this accessible, fantastically illustrated work. Four chapters cover beastly solutions, helpers, energy, and healers. For example, studying the poison dart frog helped engineers create a liquid mixture to keep plane wings free of ice. Examining slugs contributed to the invention of a surgical bandage that could one day be helpful in open-heart surgery. Full-color, impressive photographs are clear, inviting, and, in some cases, a little scary. A large spider crawling over a rock welcomes readers near the beginning of the text. The writing is engaging, and the text is well laid out. Extensively indexed, this book is perfect for report writers as well as browsers. VERDICT An excellent and fascinating choice for anyone with a developing interest in current and future robotics.—Anne Chapman Callaghan, Racine P.L., WI - Copyright 2020 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
