Booklist - 07/01/2026 With lively rhyming text and warm, adorable illustrations, this picture book is sure to delight young readers, especially those fascinated by enormous trucks and construction vehicles. The story follows Miles Bacon, affectionately known as “the big rig pig,” who proudly hauls anything and everything that others need. From helping a broken-down rig to transporting circus performers, fruit, and even a stranded alien in its spaceship, Miles never turns down a job. As the requests pile higher and higher, so does the load on his truck. Eventually, Miles discovers that even the strongest and most dependable helpers have limits when his overloaded rig can no longer make it up a hill. Thankfully, a crew of fellow trucks arrives to lend a hand, reminding Miles that asking for help is not weakness but wisdom. The repetitive phrasing and playful rhythm make this an engaging read-aloud, while the message about community and accepting support gives the story heart. Recommended for libraries serving young children and early-elementary classrooms. - Copyright 2026 Booklist.
