Booklist - 10/01/2016 Everybody’s favorite broadsword-wielding hamster princess is back in this third series installment. Harriet may not be invincible anymore, but she’s still pretty incorrigible. Despite her parents’ insistence that she refrain from rescuing any more princesses, Harriet proves, once again, that this lady’s not for turning, as she rides off on her quail to save the day. Her BFF Wilbur is in trouble—his beloved hydra’s egg has been stolen, and all signs finger Wilbur’s mom’s shady friend, Dame Gothel, as the culprit. But when Harriet and Wilbur discover that Gothel’s keeping a young rat locked in a tower—and for some nefarious reason, harvesting her tears—their rescue mission intensifies. Feisty, clever, not-always-in-complete-control-of-the-situation Harriet is as delightful as ever, and her always pragmatic views towards marriage and fairy-tale traditions are on full display here. (“It’s a big world, and you don’t have to marry the first prince that comes to your tower.”) As long as Vernon keeps Harriet’s adventures coming, fans new and old are bound to keep reading them. - Copyright 2016 Booklist.
