School Library Journal - 08/01/2014 K-Gr 3—Emily Elizabeth loves her big red dog, Clifford, although he sometimes gets into trouble. This new edition includes four beloved Clifford tales. The classic first title, "Clifford the Big Red Dog," introduces Clifford to the world. "Clifford the Small Red Puppy" then tells the story of how Emily Elizabeth first met Clifford when he was still very tiny. When Emily Elizabeth's family tries to go on vacation without him in "Clifford Takes a Trip," Clifford is determined to join them. Finally, in "Clifford's Good Deeds," Emily Elizabeth and Clifford try to help people, but it just keeps ending in disaster until a house catches on fire and Clifford comes to the rescue. Each title includes music, sound effects, and occasional pauses for illustration viewing. Narrators Stephanie D'Abruzzo and Kirsten Krohn capture the exuberance of Emily Elizabeth as she chronicles her many adventures with her dog. This new Playaway Light edition features a larger screen and enhanced controls.
