  | Full Text Reviews: School Library Journal - 08/01/2012 PreS-Gr 1—Max finds a toy bus driver on the street and adopts it as a favorite plaything. Bus Driver goes everywhere with him, which leads to numerous hunts for the lost object. The story will be familiar to many children and includes a few humorous moments. After everyone at story hour searches the library, Max finds Bus Driver in his pocket. The illustrations, done in acrylics, include some fun details, like tomatoes from the produce section rolling into the cereal aisle as Max searches the grocery store. Unfortunately, some of the faces are strangely drawn, and nearly all seem to have the same expression. Both the text and illustrations are mildly amusing, but not exceptional.
