Booklist - 07/01/2025 After alien invaders known as the Mazoku attacked Tokyo decades ago, another group called the Moon Computer visited the planet and gave five siblings otherworldly powers, and they became the Moon Troopers. When attacks began to spread across the globe, new branches were formed. Maise and her family are the protectors of the Los Angeles branch, but being a superhero isn't her top priority. She's a teenager with schoolwork to keep up with, friendships to maintain, and a serious crush she'd like to pursue. However, when the Mazoku begin to evolve and tragedy strikes the Shiraki family, Maise must do her best to step up as a Moon Trooper without sacrificing her personal life. Reminiscent of Super Sentai and The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Family Force V is a modern take on a classic concept that's both refreshing and nostalgic. The engaging story is rendered in vibrant colors and bold action sequences, which will give this lots of appeal for young teens, especially fans of manga. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
