Booklist - 06/01/2026 Hedgehogs are small animals with a great deal of natural charm. In this picture book, the second in a series about tiny hedgehog Bean, she is staying overnight at her grandmother’s house. Children who remember Bean’s adventures in Everyday Bean (2025) will happily follow the continued action here as this lovable little hedgehog learns how to fly a kite and holds onto the string as it rises into the air beneath it, to her delight. After staying indoors during several days of rain, she is ready to step outdoors again, though the wet weather gives the indoor scenes a particularly cozy look. At her grandmother’s house, Bean loves to cook, eat, and dance with Grandma. Bean and Clem, her favorite stuffy, are happy to dance around her grandmother’s home, singing an impromptu song about walking in rain. The story's winsome tone and the writer-illustrator's attention to detail in the art create a picture book that is enjoyable for young children and well worth reading aloud. - Copyright 2026 Booklist.
