Booklist - 11/01/2024 For years, the Griffin family has acted as protectors of Moreland. Key to their success is the Griffin map, which lets them teleport to anywhere in Moreland that sends out a call for help. When two different calls light up the map, Grace and new-recruit Tom are sent to handle the non-emergency: ravens are attacking the people of Brooks Hollow. But why? The pair of young wardens is eager to prove themselves up to the task, even as their mission becomes more complex and dangerous. This fast-paced British import will attract a wide range of readers, from independent readers ready for more text on the page to striving readers, who may be reading below grade level. A dyslexia-friendly font is also employed, and a large, grayscale illustration adorns each chapter. Kids will be drawn to the story’s light mystery and adventure, but Hardy also incorporates messaging about treating outsiders with kindness rather than suspicion and hate. One of three titles publishing simultaneously in the Griffin Map series. - Copyright 2024 Booklist.
