School Library Journal - 06/01/2026 Gr 3–7—Invisible Boy Stanley and his best friend, Gene, are up against monsters in this third installment of the "Adventures of Invisible Boy" series. Stan's big sister, Nico, befriends a group of teens who figure out that Stan can become invisible. To protect his secret, Stan and Gene challenge them to a contest: if the two friends build a scarier haunted house than the teens, their secret remains safe. Things never go that easily, though, and when Gene's latest invention—a robot who is always right—sprays living spray on the animatronic monsters, it's up to Invisible Boy to save Halloween and his sister. Filled with wild gadgets and laugh-out-loud moments, expect this to keep readers chuckling and turning pages. Bonus points for a sibling relationship that examines the need for independence yet remains loving. While this series installment is Halloween themed, it can be enjoyed year-round. VERDICT Robots, gadgets, and monsters make this a match made in middle grade heaven. A recommended first purchase.—Rosemary Kiladitis - Copyright 2026 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
