School Library Journal - 11/01/2025 Gr 1–3—Towering structures receive short, choppy descriptions. Readers learn much about each edifice including its location on a world map, its history, its function, what the interior looks like, its dimensions, and more. A few photos afford glimpses of what can be observed from amazingly high-up vantage points. Some photos feature labels, arrows, and insets focusing on specific details. Black-and-white photos are included where historical background information is provided. Back matter includes a glossary without pronunciation guides, a bibliography, and index, and a web address to find out more. VERDICT Recommended for limited purchase. Punning aside, much of the information here may soar over students' heads. - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.

Booklist - 10/01/2025 With construction of Barcelona’s renowned basilica beginning in 1882 and still continuing today, the Sagrada Familia, or “Holy Family” in Spanish, will soon become the tallest church in the world. This entry in the World Famous Buildings series (6 titles) educates transitional readers about the Sagrada Familia, one of the world’s most visited churches. Containing short sentences and illuminating infographics, this level 3 reader delivers information concisely, with difficult vocabulary words defined simply in the glossary. (For example, porphyry, one of the building materials used in columns inside the church, is defined as “a rock containing feldspar crystals set within a dark red or purple base.”) A helpful introduction to the Sagrada Familia and the distinctive designs of Antoni Gaudí for young readers developing an interest in architecture. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
