Booklist - 05/01/2026 Extreme sports is the name of the game in the Shred It! series (8 titles), and this audacious volume follows daredevil athletes over precipices as they dive into natural bodies of water far below. The four brief chapters introduce the history of the sport and how it differs from Olympic platform diving, describe four types of cliff diving (rope jumping, tombstoning, technical, and freestyle), and discuss the dangers inherent to this activity. Loh-Hagan’s short sentences convey a surprising amount of information, while the thoughtfully selected photos and crisp layout prevent this high/low title from feeling juvenile. A few profiles of champion divers, men and women, are incorporated into the chapters, and a “Know the Lingo” terms list defines specialized vocabulary.
