Full Text Reviews:

Booklist - 08/01/2025 Shmoof is a shmoofy dog, and Floof is a floofy cat. When they meet each other, they are not friends. “Shmoof can do tricks . . . Floof is too busy for fancy tricks.” The two pets seem to have nothing in common—until the vacuum turns on. Suddenly, they find one thing they both agree on: the vacuum must go! This shared enemy brings them together, and they decide that maybe being friends isn’t so bad after all. Told with large text and simple, expressive illustrations, this story is both endearing and funny. The plot is short and straightforward, making it easy for young listeners to follow. The colorful artwork is big, soft, and incredibly charming—perfect for little ones who are still developing print awareness. Children will giggle at the playful feud between cat and dog, then melt at their sweet reconciliation and final cuddles. With its brief length and strong visual humor, Shmoof is an ideal choice for toddler and preschool storytimes, especially when exploring themes of friendship and getting along. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
