Booklist - 01/01/2026 Snips, beware! The Wigmaster is out to wignotize the citizens of Scissor City, and it’s up to the haircutting quartet of Patty, Nubes, Letty, and Casco to cut his mind-control makeover short in this second installment by author-illustrator Raúl the Third. Hair gadgetry abounds in a world of barber pole bots and hairdryers with metal-melting abilities, and at the scissors-shaped Snipseum, Raúl pays homage to the likes of classic comics characters, featuring Nancy’s, Judy Jetson’s, and Peppermint Patty’s wigs on display at the highly anticipated Wigmania event. Characters in the drawing style of the Golden Age of comic books, along with yellow-aged panel background pages, give a retro comic-book vibe. Askew angles within panels and eye-catching color combos keep the action on the go. Spanish words are interspersed throughout with asterisk translations alongside the word bubbles. There’s locks to like for fans of wacky superheroes and villains who use puns and jokes, and there's every indication there will be a part three. Wigtastic fun. - Copyright 2026 Booklist.
