Booklist - 05/01/2026 This book from the World Cup Fan Guides series (10 titles) provides a comprehensive overview of men’s and women’s soccer in Argentina and the teams’ participation in international competition. Full-color photographs and a soccer-field motif accompany the introduction and three chapters, which address the sport’s history, notable successes, fan culture (hinchas), and the future of Argentine soccer with such emerging talents as Luka Romero, Alejandro Garnacho, Samantha Weiss, Yamila Rodriguez, and Paulina Gramaglia. The achievements of Lionel Messi and the national team, including Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win, are featured, as are the women’s team’s initial World Cup appearance in 2003 and the introduction of a professional women’s league in 2019, exemplified by midfielder Florencia Bonsegundo.
