School Library Journal - 10/01/2025 K-Gr 2—Milo Gray returns with his beloved giraffe and elephant stuffed animals—and a boundless imagination. In these latest adventures, Milo and his mother brave a dangerous volcano (a thunderstorm at the park), round up cows from a pasture (a litter of kittens), go on a quest for a golden orb, and transform into a superhero to deliver an important message to his sister. Each story blends imaginative play with real-world events, and the illustrations cleverly show both Milo's fantasy world and what's actually happening. The books feature a few short chapters with large font and more advanced vocabulary than many early readers, making them a good fit for children transitioning to chapter books. Each title ends with a craft activity, glossary, and thought-provoking questions to extend the learning and play.
