School Library Journal - 10/01/2025 Gr 2–4—This hilarious new series features two mice who live in a school, one is a class pet, and one is a mouse who wandered in one day in search of a new home. In this first adventure, the two mice overhear that the school is closing because they can't afford to stay open. They also hear about a fortune supposedly hidden by the school's founder and dedicate themselves to finding the fortune and staying open. This heavily visual chapter book presents in a handwritten and illustrated diary style that will appeal to fans of "Wimpy Kid" and "Dogman" and the humor is spot-on for the early elementary crowd. VERDICT It's hard to imagine this not becoming an instant hit with young readers. Recommended for all collections. - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
