School Library Journal - 07/01/2026 Gr 1 Up—Cabin Head and Tree Head return with another delightfully absurd collection of adventures that proves these two may be the funniest heads around. The pair bounces from one hilarious neighborhood escapade to the next, meeting an increasingly ridiculous cast of fellow Heads along the way. Whether dramatically spending an afternoon posing, navigating the value of alone time, or learning about ecosystems when the Sandcastle Heads overtake the beach, every chapter delivers laugh-out-loud moments paired with heart. The duo also dives headfirst into wellness culture, balancing weightlifting and healthy eating with the kind of over-the-top enthusiasm only Cabin Head and Tree Head can bring. Cabin Head proudly celebrates earning trophies for absolutely everything, including breathing, while later chapters slow things down with a surprisingly sweet appreciation for cloud watching and simply doing nothing at all. This title excels at blending deadpan absurdity with genuine lessons about friendship, boundaries, balance, self-confidence, and appreciating others. The brief chapters and ministories make the book incredibly approachable for emerging graphic novel readers, while the nonstop visual humor and clever storytelling keep the pages flying for readers of all ages. Every newly introduced Head somehow manages to top the last, adding to the wonderfully weird charm of the series. VERDICT A must-purchase companion to the first series title that will fly off library shelves. Readers will absolutely lose their heads waiting for the promised third installment.—Angie Jameson - Copyright 2026 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
