School Library Journal - 10/01/2025 Gr 1–3—In this new series, readers meet JoJo, a girl with hearing differences and a hearing aid, who always finds a way to add some sparkle and shine to her everyday life. The first four books find JoJo dealing with frustration after losing a cupcake contest, bedazzling her new hearing aid and inviting her friends to make more dazzling jewelry with her, learning how to be in harmony with her friends, both musically and interpersonally, and learning the consequences of lying and breaking the rules while pet sitting for the first time. Each volume is filled with short paragraphs and frequent full color illustrations. Young readers will love to follow along with JoJo's relatable adventures. "Think about it" questions and a craft or activity prompt are appended to each story. VERDICT Recommended for most collections where short beginner chapter books are in demand. - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
