Booklist - 07/01/2025 Fluff Nugget is a cheerful forest creature who prides himself on his constant happiness and makes a point of helping anyone in need of cheering up. His song “Goodbye Grumpy Grumps” is well-known throughout the community, and Fluff is called on to sing it whenever a creature is feeling down. One day, Fluff is interrupted multiple times in the midst of a simple task: getting some cherries from the store. When he tries to push back, his friends don't seem to appreciate all the time and effort he puts into boosting their spirits. Before long, Fluff, looking increasingly frazzled, has a huge meltdown. What happens when the one person responsible for cheering up the entire forest needs cheering up himself? DeGrand's bright and bold over-the-top cartoon artwork escalates the frenetic energy of the story, in which just about every object has a smiley face, and that will keep kids turning the pages. The helpful message that it's OK to ask for space is welcome, but it's the raucous art and slapstick comedy that steals the show. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
