Cookie has woken up on the wrong side of the bed and is very angry. Sometimes the best way to cheer up a grumpy lump is simply by being there-and lending your ears.

School Library Journal - 04/01/2019 Toddler-PreS-This is a not-so-charming tale about Angry Cookie, who takes out his bad mood on readers. The contrary cookie is angry about everything under the sun, including his friend Barbra who keeps playing the same song over and over on her recorder. Then he's angry about the fact that there is no strawberry pudding toothpaste left. Then he gets a bad haircut and wears a hat but hats don't look good on cookies. He even tries to get himself his favorite sundae on the way home, but they have run out, and a bird tries to snack on him. The turning point is when the cookie realizes that readers are still listening. This makes Angry Cookie very happy, and now he can see the brighter side of things. Suddenly, Barbra's song isn't so bad after all. Readers learn that it helps to talk to someone about your problems and issues. VERDICT A good read-aloud to young children, especially those who have a difficult time with expressing emotions.-Amy Lukich, Tinley Park Public Library, IL - Copyright 2019 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
