School Library Journal - 04/01/2023 Gr 4–7—Children learn about the importance of money early in life, but understanding it is another matter. This nonfiction book covers the past, present, and future of money in an engaging and dynamic way. From cool historical facts about currency to how we got where we are, the author makes value of everyday objects come alive. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies might not yet be attainable for minors, but learning how to save, invest, and budget money is well covered in a clear way. Through easy-to-understand examples and comparisons (e.g., "This commemorative coin is as wide as a microwave"), the value of objects and currency can be recognized. A glossary, saving tips, and quiz end this fantastic book that young readers and even their families will find engaging. VERDICT A great addition to every library. Recommended.—Carol Youssif - Copyright 2023 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
