Booklist - 07/01/2025 Ogami is a notorious and masterful hitman who is unsatisfied with his life. His wish for excitement is fulfilled on one assignment when he accidentally gets genetically altered back to his junior-high self! The best part is that he has no idea how to connect with kids. Rather than put Ogami on unpaid leave, the boss has the perfect assignment for him: infiltrate a prestigious academy he’s considering for his daughter. Things start out fine, with him developing an appreciation for learning that only comes from a lifetime of hard living, but it turns out that the academy isn’t just a school for rich kids. Volume one of this story starts out with some hilarious moments and poignant commentaries on modern schools and students, which are entertaining and could be enlightening for teen readers. The art style follows in the vein of such rougher and more unpolished titles as Chainsaw Man and Kagurabachi, emphasizing bold outlines and fewer fine details. Plenty of action, humor, and a plot full of absurdity will be enough to entice readers to follow this wild journey. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
