Booklist - 05/01/2023 Grab your goggles because the bikes blasting through the Lightning Bolt Books: Dirt Bike Zone series (6 titles) kick up some serious dirt. These titles provide young thrill-seekers with very general introductions to different types of dirt-bike races and competitions. Designed for primary-grade readers, the series utilizes solid page backgrounds in saturated colors, large type, and a stock photo on every page, making for a supportive reading experience. Some of the photos are full-page backgrounds to the text, while others are smaller with labels or an accompanying text box. Each book’s content is divided into four chapters that pull readers into the action, offer a brief description of the sport and the gear it requires (from bikes to body armor), and provide snapshots of biking big shots. Supercross introduces another kind of Motocross in which bikers race around constructed dirt tracks full of bumps, jumps, and turns.
