Booklist - 07/01/2025 This delightful, heavily illustrated chapter book follows a young ghost named Ghostie as he struggles with a big change. Ghostie loved living in the spooky world Scareville, where he had plenty of monster friends—and then his parents move him to Smithville, a human town. At school, Ghostie is the only ghost around, and his new classmates are terrified of him. His parents seem to embrace their new life, but Ghostie feels isolated, stuck between two worlds. As he tries to act human, it only leads to an embarrassing disaster. Ghostie learns to embrace his uniqueness when he hears stories of his amazing relatives and learns to take a stand for himself and his classmates. Ghostie’s journey to find himself and navigate his new life is both funny and touching. The story includes fun terms (eye scream, french flies) and is paired with vibrant, enchanting illustrations, offering a delightful mix of humor and heart. An exciting start to a fun new series that teaches about the challenges of change and embracing differences. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
