But they’re waylaid upon discovering Swallowhaven under siege by nemesis Captain Grizzletusk’s pirates and are recruited to battle. With lively animal characters, classic storytelling flair, suspense, and humor (which is occasionally coarse—think cantankerous, gaseous phoenix!), as well as interspersed line illustrations, this is an entertaining, fast-paced entry in the fantasy-adventure series that followers will especially enjoy. - Copyright 2012 Booklist.
