School Library Journal - 06/01/2019 Gr 2–4—Based on an Australian TV show, these three short stories center on a group of students and their shenanigans during "little lunch," a 15-minute blend of recess and snack time. The first tale is about Rory, who forgets to pack a little lunch and makes a bad decision to rectify the situation. In the second story, Battie is sure he has ruined Grandparents Day and he hides to avoid disappointing his teacher. The final entry is about Melanie, whose bake sale to raise money for puppies gets a little out of control. The silly characters will amuse readers and the illustrations complement the hilarity of their lunchtime high jinks. There is a character list with illustrations at the front of the book to help distinguish the large cast. VERDICT A fun and engaging title for early chapter book collections.—V.
