School Library Journal - 06/27/2025 Gr 1–3—The rambunctious elephant from Elena Rides returns for a night outdoors in this charming early reader. She happily unpacks a box with a DIY tent but keeps getting entangled. The determined main character keeps trying despite multiple disastrous attempts. A friendly bird encourages her along the way. With lots of white space and bright, primary colors, this is just right for emerging readers. The font often varies in size to emphasize the actions on the page and dynamic onomatopoetic words to hint at emotions reflected in the narrative. Elena's frustrated expressions and the question-and-answer format offer lots of opportunities for engagement and giggles. This dual-language edition includes the Spanish and English editions in one volume and in a flip format. This title is also available in individual Spanish and English editions. VERDICT The pitch-perfect Spanish/English dual-language edition will resonate with almost-independent readers who are still learning to manage their big emotions and are ready to graduate from Mo Willems's "Elephant and Piggie."—Shelley Diaz - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
