Booklist - 10/01/2023 Readers get prime seats to take in Lewis Hamilton’s astonishing Formula 1 career in this entry in the Today’s Top Drivers series (6 titles). The bulk of the text is devoted to his successes on the track from a young age, beginning with driving go-karts and progressing to F2 racing and F1 stardom. The book doesn’t offer much peripheral information on Hamilton’s life, but young fans will consider this career highlights reel “the good stuff” they were after. The one exception is a brief “Off the Track” section that highlights Hamilton’s racial justice advocacy and side hustle in music. High-interest and image-driven, this title will pique the interest of racing fans and reluctant readers who enjoy sports. A time line recaps his journey to the top of his field. - Copyright 2023 Booklist.
