Booklist - 12/01/2022 In this sequel to The Unforgettable Logan Foster (2022), Logan, an autistic foundling with an eidetic memory and a determination to track down his birth family, heads for a showdown with death-at-a-touch supervillain Necros—who he believes is also, somehow, his mother. Peters again packs his plot with action and his cast with superpowered friends and foes, the former of which include Logan’s loving foster parents, his super-strong BFF Elena, and enigmatic classmate/D&D buddy Connie, whose feelings for him and equally stunning secret identity are revealed in the course of a climactic, massively destructive brawl that wraps up some plotlines but not all (so stay tuned). The author seems to have cribbed his main story arc from the classic Marvel rivalry between the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants—perfectly appropriate as this reads like a comics series in prose form. Readers will cheer the smart, earnest narrator as he works to save the world while heroically seeking clues to what makes other people tick and to his own hidden past. Final spot-art illustrations not seen. - Copyright 2022 Booklist.
