Full Text Reviews:

Booklist - 08/01/2018 The new Dog Man series continues the brand of humor Pilkey mined for the Captain Underpants series, except with a whole new hero to love. Hombre Perro, as the series is known in Spanish, is about Oficial Caballero and his very intelligent dog, Gregorio. A villainous kitty decides to get rid of them both with a bomb, only to end up creating the most incredible policeman ever when, in surgery, the dog’s head is grafted onto the policeman’s body. Violà: Dogman, who has the strength of Oficial Caballero and the smarts of Gregorio. This combines zany, childlike, full-color, sometimes interactive pages with high-level Spanish vocabulary good for second-graders and already-fluent Spanish readers. This kind of humor translates well—and the translation itself is quite good. - Copyright 2018 Booklist.
