School Library Journal - 12/01/2022 Gr 2–5—Mayor Good Boy, Greenwood's favorite canine elected official, is going to star in a new documentary. Filming starts immediately, alongside a project to restore the local theater. At first, things go smoothly. But the hullabaloo reaches a critical point when a string of thefts plagues the town and eventually disrupts filming. Abby, Aaron, Ms. Monica, and filmmaker Imani Meadows help Mayor Good Boy get to the bottom of the mystery. But can Mayor Good Boy resist the cheese? This upbeat, ultimately low-stakes sequel builds on the strong sense of civic duty espoused by the first book. The full-color art is bright and expressive, with action and comedic relief aplenty. Back matter includes quick bios, making-of information, and snack recipes. Abby and Aaron present white. The citizens are diverse in skin tone. VERDICT This thematic take on making and learning from mistakes is a welcome addition to library collections. - Copyright 2022 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
