Taxi collects fares and navigates heavy traffic, screaming sirens, a sudden downpour, and even a kitten-in-a-tree emergency, all while collecting passengers engaged in the business of life on one very eventful day. Digital illustrations capture the energy and movement of city dwellers and the hectic pace of life, while rhyming text that emphasizes alliteration makes for a fun-filled read-aloud. Children will enjoy the many details hiding in the art, which highlights diversity, work, play, and the value of community. VERDICT Children will reach for this book again and again.
