School Library Journal - 12/01/2022 Gr 4–8—Picking up right at Chapter 33, this direct sequel has twins Dani and Dorian and their friends embroiled in a feud between humans and witches. When Master Pendragon's house burns down, the young teens lie low until a crystal ball shows where Prince William is hidden, and thus their new, dangerous quest begins. A mix of back story, adventure, and building tension culminates in a pivotal cliffhanger. The complex story arc spans multiple characters, flashbacks, and imagined sequences—all rendered in a pitch-perfect palette. Blushing and will-they-won't-they crushing add light and sweet romantic elements, including an adorable kiss between two boys. Bonus chapters further add to the squee value. The main characters' skin tones range from pale to beige to brown. VERDICT This page-turning print continuation of the blockbuster webcomic will fly off the shelves. Buy extra copies of both books, as readers will need to read them in order. - Copyright 2022 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
